about Tourmaline Pink
Tourmaline is a crystal silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminium, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium. Tourmaline is classed as a semi-precious stone and the gem comes in a wide variety of colors. The name comes from the Sinhalese word "turamali" or "toramalli", which translates to stone of many colors. Pink Tourmaline is the lighter tone and saturation levels of strongly purplish red, slightly purplish red, and red. Red Tourmaline that is deeper in tone and saturation are called Rubellite tourmaline in the gemstone trade. Rubellite is derived from the Latin word for red. Tourmaline is a October bithstone. This gives the October babies a wide variety of choices in color and those who are not fans of opal.
